Michelin Agilis CrossClimate Recall – May 2025

Michelin North America, Inc. has issued a recall for certain Agilis CrossClimate tires. The number of tires potentially affected is in the thousands, 6,800 to be precise.

The reason for the recall is that a manufacturing defect may cause chunks of tread rubber to detach from the shoulder blocks posing a significant risk. Tire failure is possible which may lead to crash.

Details of the tires affected by the recall:

  • Brand: Michelin
  • Model: Agilis CrossClimate C-Metric
  • Size: 185/60R15C 94T
  • DOT Codes: 1FK 1R 013X, with manufacturing dates from week 40 of 2023 to week 17 of 2025
  • Production Dates: September 24, 2023 – April 26, 2025 NHTSA OEMDTC

In case you happen to have such tires on your vehicle, you should check the DOT code on the sidewall of one of them. If your DOT code matches the one affected by thsi recall and the manufacturing date is withing the given range, you should contact Michelin’s customer service at 1-888-971-3801.

It is important to note that Michelin is still developing a remedy program for this recall. Owners will be notified by michelin once the remedy program is finalized and the details of it are made public.
